Job Summary:
Allied Steel Buildings is materially scaling its capacity in high-complexity conventional structural steel and modular systems for large-scale industrial, data-center, energy sector, and manufacturing projects. To do this, we need a senior, hands-on execution role based full-time in our McGregor, Texas headquarters and fabrication facility. You will own major structural and modular packages from initial client inquiry through final close-out, with direct responsibility for winning the work, protecting margin, and delivering on schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of detailed proposals for conventional structural steel buildings and components including, modular supports, and integrated MEPas well as manufacturing conveyance systems.
- Direct in-house resources and partner engineering/detailing resources to produce fast, accurate take-offs and models. (you assign, review, and own the final number)
- Handle all aspects of the design coordination between Allied design resources and client design assets.
- Run awarded projects end-to-end: budgeting, scheduling, buy-out, fabrication coordination, shipping, change management, and cash flow.
- Build and protect supplier and subcontractor relationships that guarantee on-time performance.
- Collaborate closely with the design department, clients, and stakeholders from project inception to refine scopes, identify risks, and develop solutions.
- Manage full project lifecycles, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and coordination with global manufacturing partners and the McGregor fabrication team to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, track variances in costs and timelines, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays or overruns, ensuring alignment project delivery goals.
- Support the procurement department with site visits, supplier negotiations, and vendor evaluation.
- Prepare and present project proposals, bids, and reports to internal teams and clients, emphasizing alignment with client needs and sustainability goals.
- Foster cross-functional teamwork with engineering, fabrication, and logistics teams to streamline processes and enhance project outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 10-12 years successfully leading both estimating and project management lifecycles.
- 5-7 years of conventional structural steel or complex industrial/modular projects is preferred.
- Personally taken multiple $10M–$50M+ packages from quote to final billing with a demonstrable record of on-time (or early) delivery.
- Proven experience in collaborating with engineers and detailers to ensure project success.
- Possess a solid understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and use the project schedule as the primary tool for controlling scope, risk, and decision-making, serving as the natural driver and steward of the project timeline.
- Comfortable and respected in front of Fortune-500 clients, in project trailers, and on the production floor.
- Must be willing and able to work from the McGregor, TX office and plant full time.
Work Schedule:
- Standard day shift, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to support business needs.
