Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair activities for production equipment, tools, and facility systems to ensure continuous and safe operations. This role works closely with the production team to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance of manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in installation, setup, and relocation of new and existing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and prioritize tasks based on production needs.
- Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are kept in good working order and comply with safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and reporting equipment issues or inefficiencies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and mechanical rooms.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and government regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards to a supervisor.
- Actively participate in all mandatory safety training, drills, and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve production goals and departmental objectives.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Monitor own work to ensure it meets quality specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years minimum, 7+ years preferred.
- Certifications Preferred: OSHA 30, CMRT, PLC, NFPA 70E, CIMM, CCST
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English and/or Spanish to interpret and follow safety guidelines and work instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to [e.g., 50 pounds] regularly.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a manufacturing facility (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels, potential for dust/debris, wet floors).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and handling supplies.
Work Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Additional hours may be required based on workload and project deadlines.
- Depending on production needs, some weekend work may be required.
Benefits:
- Allied employees will be eligible for the Allied benefit package 1st day of the month following 60 days.
- Staffing Agency employees will be eligible for the Allied benefits package at the time of conversion. Benefit waiting period will be waived.
