Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Plant Foreman to lead our steel manufacturing facility located in McGregor, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, from raw material handling to final product assembly. The Plant Foreman will ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of welders, machine operators, material handlers and industrial painters. Assign daily tasks and ensure production schedules are met. Conduct performance reviews, manage staffing, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Monitor and optimize production workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Implement and maintain strict quality control standards. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Champion a culture of safety. Enforce all company and OSHA safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment and machinery are in good working order.
- Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure a steady supply of materials.
- Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, quality checks, and maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and government regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards.
- Actively participate in all mandatory safety training, drills, and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve production goals and departmental objectives.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Monitor own work to ensure it meets quality specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 5 years in a steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing setting.
- Education: A degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, including saws, welders, presses, and cranes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English/Spanish to interpret/follow safety guidelines and work instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to [e.g., 50 pounds] regularly.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a manufacturing facility (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels, potential for dust/debris, wet floors).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and handling supplies.
Work Schedule:
- Standard day shift, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to support production needs.
- Depending on production needs, some weekend work may be required.
Benefits:
- Allied employees will be eligible for the Allied benefit package 1st day of the month following 60 days.
