PROJECT OVERVIEW

Partnering for Success in Steel Manufacturing

Project Details

A Manufacturing Facility for Ironline Metals LLC in Yemessee, SC

Upon discovering Allied Steel Buildings, Ironline Metals had a strong feeling we could deliver exactly the structure they needed for their new Steel Manufacturing Facility.

The building was an essential next step in the company’s future goal of expanding as a prominent supplier of cold form steel, joists, and decking in the US market. Partnering with the right team to bring their vision to life was critical and Allied was ready to rise to the occasion.

Though their general contractor had secured a highly competitive proposal from another building manufacturer, our rapid response time and exceptional customer service left a lasting impression: Ironline Metals recognized the unique value Allied brought to the table and put their trust in us to meet the standards that they felt few others could match.

Eager to put our expertise into action, we kicked off design discussions in October 2022 collaborating closely with the client’s engineer to produce a design that perfectly encapsulated the client’s vision. Further refinement and detailing was entrusted to our engineering teams.

Building Steel Manufacturing Partnerships that Last

Thanks to the smooth start that exceeded expectations, the client shared enthusiasm for Allied designing and fabricating a series of future projects, marking the opportunity for a remarkable collaboration for years to come. In turn we eagerly demonstrated the value of our resources in building time-tested partnerships, by offering strategic connections and solutions that would enable the client’s expansion into South America.

Meeting Challenges Head-On

The best steel builders know that smooth seas don’t make skilled sailors, so when changes to the Building Codes necessitated a redesign of the building, Allied saw the challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities as undeterred solutionists. Guiding the client through the redesign process with a focus on transparency, strong communication, and an arsenal of solutions, helped them swiftly approve the changes, allowing the project to proceed to fabrication on time. Despite this unexpected setback, Allied remained steadfast in its commitment to the client’s timeline, with materials ready to ship by March 2023.

Going the Extra Mile

Job site delays, unfortunately, impacted the building’s installation schedule, even though fabrication was completed on time. In a testament to our dedication to the client, Allied volunteered to accommodate the storage of ten containers’ worth of materials in the loading area of our manufacturing facility. Additionally, we postponed the delivery of more delicate components, such as roof panels. Allied also absorbed delivery-related charges arising from these delays. As of now, installation is well underway, with an anticipated completion date in the fall of 2023. Once complete, the building will consist of a robust primary steel structure that accommodates steel equipment seamlessly, 26-gauge PRB wall panels, and a 24-gauge standing seam roof.

Another Allied Success Story

Allied Steel Buildings always strives to make a positive impact for our clients and Ironline Metals trusted our ability to do exactly that. Not only did we overcome the hurdle of redesigning the building to meet new code requirements while keeping the project on time, but we also showcased our commitment to transparent communication, adaptability in the face of challenges, and an unwavering dedication to our client’s success. This project exemplifies the essence of Allied—your dedicated partner in building the future.
