Mother Nature Strikes but Allied Delivers in Ontario

S. Boudrias Packaging Facility

Canadian Packaging Facility. At Allied, we’ve faced countless hurdles over the past two decades, but there’s one thing we can’t control: the weather. Nevertheless, when it comes to delivering top-quality building projects on time, come rain, snow, or shine, we never back down.

In July 2022, S. Boudrias Horticole Inc., a Quebec-based horticultural product producer, approached us to bring their vision for a second Canadian packaging facility to life. Despite permit delays that pushed the construction timeline into Canada’s toughest building months, we rolled up our sleeves and found innovative solutions to keep the project on track and deliver superior results, once again proving ourselves as the ultimate can-do problem solvers.

Fertile New Ground

S. Boudrias Horticole Inc. knew that in order to meet the demands of their expanding distribution contracts with major Canadian and US retailers, they needed a bigger and better facility to handle the increased volume of their gardening products. Enter Allied, who stepped up to the challenge of supplying a brand new, custom-designed building that could accommodate their specific machinery needs. With a completion deadline of March 2023 looming, Allied worked tirelessly to design, engineer, manufacture, and deliver everything necessary to erect the 20,000 square foot pre-fabricated steel building.

Despite initial setbacks caused by permit delays and Canada’s notorious winter weather, Allied remained undaunted in our commitment to getting the job done on time. By collaborating with the project partners, we found innovative solutions to keep the project moving forward. Ultimately, the building was completed on schedule in mid-December, just in time to fulfill S. Boudrias’s major new contract by the March 15 deadline.

Weathering the Weather

Despite zoning variances and permit delays that threatened to derail the project, the project GC, Interval contractors out of Montreal, pressed forward, working tirelessly to ensure that the 20,000 square foot pre-assembled custom steel building was completed before the client’s major new retail contract deadline in March. Even when the harsh winter weather threw a wrench in the works, the team sprang into action, utilizing innovative solutions to overcome every obstacle that came their way.

From thawing frozen rolls of roof insulation in hotel rooms to working around the clock in temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius, the project team went above and beyond to ensure that the client’s vision became a reality. And in the end, their hard work paid off, as the facility was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
