Allied Steel Buildings is a global leader in the pre-fabricated steel buildings industry and the recipient of numerous accolades, including being named one of Business Week’s Most Innovative Companies.  Allieds Equestrian business spans the globe delivering structures for riding arenas, dressage arenas, stables and adjacent facilities to private clients and public facilities. Allied is seeking an experienced Business Development / Sales Manager to grow the company’s  Equestrian business and significant market share.  The Equestrian Business Development and Sales Manager will be the first point of contact for all Equestrian leads.  They will work closely with Vice President of Operations and Engineering team to qualify prospects, produce formal quoting, contract negotiations, and pricing.  The ideal candidate will possess an innate and proven ability to impact the Company’s and their own success by exceeding their goals, be target and deadline driven, self-disciplined, and have a high level of accountability.

Responsibilities

 

  • Applying consultative sales approach, works with Equestrian owners and executives focusing on increasing revenue for Allied’s Equestrian goals
  • Responsible for managing current lead flow and identifying, qualifying, developing and closing Equestrian sales within the market
  • Acts as the primary lead contact for the Equestrian customer inquiries and provides timely and strategic responses with goal of creating long-lasting business relationships within the Equestrian arena
  • Utilizes the Company’s CRM on a daily basis for scheduling and documenting sales activities
  • Responds on a timely manner to all clients and potential clients inquiries
  • Maintains and develops product knowledge in order to provide Allied’s Equestrian building expertise  
  • Generates and submit bids to customers as requested and closes opportunities
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and other events to keep abreast of industry developments and seek potential customers

 

Qualifications and Requirements

 

  • Knowledge and experience in Equestrian industry, Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry , preferred
  • 5 plus years business development, sales or marketing experience within the Equestrian industry with proven track record of success and revenue growth, individually or part of a team
  • Excellent ability to effectively express information and ideas both written and verbally, including eloquent and persuasive presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively use self confidence and persuasion to communicate and negotiate sales strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage clients throughout the sale life cycle
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities using a sense of urgency to situations and be willing to get involved in any capacity in order to increase the pace and achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Proficient with a CRM system (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field of study and/or 5 plus years with relatable work experience or equivalent combination or education and experience
