Reliable Heating & Cooling

Grocery Store Building

An office of our own.

When Reliable Heating & Cooling was seeking a permanent home, they researched far and wide for a new steel building.

But it was a phone call they received on a national holiday that led them to choose Allied Steel.

Reliable is based in Regina , the provincial capital of Saskatchewan , Canada . The company has experienced strong growth and wanted to buy land for a permanent office and shop building.

In Spring 2004, General Manager Ron Fiander and Operations Manager Duane Daniels began to look at locations and buildings. One day at home, Daniels visited the Allied Steel web site and entered the information about the type of building Reliable needed.

On May 21, Canada 's traditional "May Long" holiday weekend, Daniels got a call from Allied Steel with a building that met his needs.

"They had a building just slightly shorter than we were looking for, but the price was great and the quality seemed like what we wanted," Daniels says.

The new building is located two blocks from the company's former rented space. The 95- by 60-foot building is in two halves. In the front, architects designed seven offices, a reception area, a breakroom and a boardroom. In the back, 14 technicians can work in the workshop for the sheet metal and HVAC area.

Daniels says the process came together fairly quickly.

After ordering the building in early summer, Reliable bought the land for the new building and prepared the property to build. The structure arrived in October. He said the building arrived from Southern California within the timeframe Allied had promised.

"We started working on the building right when it arrived off the truck," Daniels says. "Everything was there, right down to the nuts and bolts. The pavement was laid and even the landscaping was done, so we got right to work."

Daniels says construction progressed quickly, because the Reliable staff did all the work themselves. "We have our own electrical team, plumbers, refrigeration guys, everything."

"I've received excellent service over the phone from everyone we've worked with at Allied Steel," Daniels says. "You want to be able to trust the company you're working with, and that's definitely been the case."

For example, when Reliable needed a bolt pattern for the building's beams, Daniels says Allied sent the pertinent information within a day.

In addition to the building, Allied Steel is also providing Reliable with the windows, doors and insulation for the structure.

"We got a phenomenal price on the windows, doors and insulation," Daniel says. "Having Allied take care of so much has made this an easy process."

Daniels says he would recommend Allied to anyone who needs a steel building. In fact, he already has.

"Our building is gorgeous. We've gotten calls already from people wanting to know where we got it," he says. "A company called from Edmonton , and a local farmer stopped by because he's looking for a building. I've got no problem telling them to call Allied."
