In Franklin Lakes, NJ, Cody Werner gets his share of bad weather.
“Between the heat in the summer time and the snow in the winter, it can be trying,” said Werner.
When he decided to build a garage for personal storage, Werner wanted to make sure that it would hold up against the weather changes.
“I felt that if I had something made of steel it would fare a lot better in all kinds of conditions.”
He then saw a flier for Allied Steel, and gave them a call.
“The sales person who I spoke with provided me with great information about the building I wanted,” remembers Werner. “It’s really a huge garage, 30’ X 35’ structure with a ridge vent.”
When they went to put up the building in the summer time, Werner said the heat slowed them down a bit.
“It was tough because had it not been hot as hell outside, we would have had it up sooner. We got through it, though, and were able to erect the building without any problems.”
The process was a new experience for Werner so he hired a contractor to do the construction.
“It was the first time that we had used a contractor for putting together a steel building,” says Werner.
“It turned out to be the first time for the guy that put it up as well, but it definitely came out great. Every piece fit the way it was supposed to. He figured out how to do it with the blueprints. I know that he had to get some special tools, but he got the hang of it quickly. The building came out perfectly, and was up in no time.”
According to Werner, the garage is able to withstand 40 psf of snow and three consecutive second gusts of 90mph. He is thrilled with the building and knows there are people who would like a building from Allied Steel.
“I know the contractor wants to talk to us about some referrals he has. We were all very impressed with Allied Steel.”
