It can be difficult for a small congregation, from a place like a rural part of Ohio, to buy an affordable structure for a new church.  But thanks to one of his friends, Carlos Cooper was able to find something he liked with Allied Steel.

“I remember that a pastor friend heard from someone in our organization about buildings at reduced prices.  I think that’s how we found out.  This was back in April 2005.”

Cooper chose a 32 X 60 X 12 building with 3 X 7 and 6 X 7 doors for his Southeastern Baptist Church.  He found the whole process of buying a steel structure very easy.

“It was pretty much in line with what we were looking to spend and so we went with it.”

Cooper had volunteers help him put up the building.  Even though they all had some background in construction, none of them had ever put up a steel building before.  The volunteer builders were available to help Cooper for a short period of time only, so he had to take advantage of the help as much as he could. To make the process fast and easy, he coordinated with Allied’s Building Services Group.

“I spoke to Rick and Mitch a couple of times about the questions I had regarding putting up the structure.  I had to have it within a certain time period because of volunteer builders and the time they had.  Rick and Mitch were very helpful and patient and everything went fine. We’re just putting finishing touches on the interior right now.  We were able to follow the blueprints well after running through things with them.”

“Overall, I was happy with how things worked out.  The best part, though, was getting the building within the price range we were willing to spend.
